Ted Gavin, CTP, NCPM

Ted Gavin is a Certified Turnaround Professional and the managing partner of Gavin/Solmonese. He has over 20 years of experience working with distressed companies and their stakeholders in diverse industries, including retail, transportation, regulated and non-regulated manufacturing, pharmaceutical and healthcare, professional services, construction, and metal-forming. He has served in leadership roles in engineering, manufacturing, information technology, and regulatory affairs functions. Ted has extensive experience in strategic planning and process re-engineering, with hands-on management experience in nonprofit, for-profit, and public sector operations. Ted testifies frequently as an expert witness on matters such as ordinary course of business issues in preference litigation, as well as on fiduciary duties of management in distressed companies. In 2021, Ted launched business/disrupted, a weekly talk radio show and podcast on the VoiceAmerica Business network.

Ted Gavin is a nationally recognized expert in mediation. In addition to being a National Certified Professional Mediator (NCPM), Ted is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and a member of Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI). He served as Chairman of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) from 2020 to 2021, and received the prestigious Turnaround Atlas Leadership Achievement Award honoring those individuals who, over the years, have contributed to successful turnarounds resulting in revitalized companies, an improved local economy, and job creation.  His experience, both as plaintiff and as expert for plaintiffs and defendants in litigation gives him the insight to understand conflict from the ground up and the ability to help disputants find the path to resolution.
