Press Release May 10, 2018

The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) has announced that Ted Gavin, CTP, a founding partner and managing director of corporate restructuring and public affairs strategy firm Gavin/Solmonese, has been selected by the ABI Board of Directors to be President. Its members include attorneys, accountants, bankers, judges, professors, lenders, turnaround specialists and other bankruptcy professionals from across the country.

“I am proud to call myself an ABI member and am honored to serve ABI in this position,” said Gavin. “This is an exciting time to be a member of the ABI, as our industry is changing and our organization is and will continue to respond to these changes. I look forward to serving the membership in the coming year.”

Gavin has been an ABI member since 2003. He has served as Vice President-Development, co-chair of ABI’s Mid-Atlantic Bankruptcy Workshop and contributing editor for the ABI Journal’s Last in Line column. He is frequently appointed as liquidating trustee, litigation trustee or plan administrator over post-confirmation liquidating trusts. He is an expert on rapid § 363 asset-sale processes, SPM gifts/carve-outs and evaluation of claims against insiders.
